I recently was trying to figure out who Silas looks like. After finding a few childhood photos of me and Patrick at around 13 months of age, I created a line-up.

One funny similarity is that we each had the funny hair flip on our left side.

Another fantastic Tuesday with Silas. Our outing to Carkeek was quiet and relaxing. Very few people enjoying low tide, so we had much of the beach to ourselves.

baby steps

This happened today…

Patrick and I got to witness his official first steps at home this evening. I had been worried that Silas would achieve this while Patrick was at work, so I purposely didn’t encourage him.

When Patrick arrived home today we were chatting and snacking in the kitchen when Silas reached out for a cracker. He was already standing when I held it in front of him. With a couple of shaky, shuffled steps he reached his prize and we were there to see it.

September is my favorite month. The transition out of summer and into fall is just lovely.
