19 Months old today.
The past week was weird; actually discouraging. Not because of any one thing in particular, but a number of things all adding up to missed opportunities. Opportunities to find joy in the little things, observe the world as Silas does, and ways to serve my family.
(Here comes my spiritual take on this) There are times in life when things seem a little off. It is in those moments, that I think Satan finds the opportunity to invade. This trickster can really do a number on your heart with a running dialogue of how it is all wrong, ugly, and unworthy. Then he watches you fade. It can be incredibly difficult to step off this downward spiraling ride. A ride that strangely can be comforting because your evil companion convinces you that this is where you should be. In your heart you may know this isn’t true, but the fog that settles is too thick to see beyond the darkness.
Thankfully there were a couple of messages recently that shed light on what was happening. In that knowledge I found power and that power came from Christ.
This season of life is presenting challenges that I am still trying to manage. I am now trying to look at these challenges as opportunities to find joy, learn, and be as God sees and wants me to be.
So to make up for lost time here are some photos of the past several days.
Happy Fat Tuesday.
